The qualitative phase had two moments: interview students and another expert, to build quantitative instrument. Quantitative had a correlational design. Qualitative results showed that the most frequent indicator´s categories were respect, tolerance and responsibility. Martinsvidal.martins@pucpr.br<p>The aim of this study was to analyse the process preceding the assessment of competence-based learning in a private Brazilian Higher Education Institution. The data source comprises: personal registers of the faculty developers during the study group about competencies; audio and video recordings of the workshops offered to faculty; registers of the counselling sessions for defining and writing the competencies of the programs. The study raises the perception that students, teachers and senior officials of these academic spaces have about the construction of the culture of peace in the universities of the city, with a differential approach from the gender perspective.
