Citizenships Skills Training of Master Students in Education through the Intervention of a Curriculum with a Blended Learning Strategy

The results of a doctoral research, which aimed to determine how and to what extent teaching practices and students' perceptions relate against the formation of Citizenship Skills in education with a strategy blended learning, which was carried out with an exploratory design presented sequential - DEXPLOS, 53 students in a Master of Education. The qualitative phase had two moments: interview students and another expert, to build quantitative instrument. Quantitative had a correlational design. Qualitative results showed that the most frequent indicator´s categories were respect, tolerance and responsibility. In the quantitative hypotheses sought to establish whether there is a correlation between indicators of these categories showing the most significant the relations of tolerance and respect.

The Challenge of Institutional Mobilization towards Competency Assessment

The aim of this study was to analyse the process preceding the assessment of competence-based learning in a private Brazilian Higher Education Institution. The data source comprises: personal registers of the faculty developers during the study group about competencies; audio and video recordings of the workshops offered to faculty; registers of the counselling sessions for defining and writing the competencies of the programs. We concluded that the process goes through: adoption and appropriation of a unique competency concept across the institution and by faculty developers; and, for its effectiveness, adoption of a Collaborative Curriculum Building Approach in Higher Education.

Gender relations and building a culture of peace in the Bogota`s universities

This research highlights the studies carried out to determine how gender relations condition the construction of a culture of peace in higher education in the Bogota city, is developed with the participation of actors from three universities in the city. The study raises the perception that students, teachers and senior officials of these academic spaces have about the construction of the culture of peace in the universities of the city, with a differential approach from the gender perspective. This research is proposed from a hermeneutical phenomenological paradigm, with a qualitative and descriptive approach.

The process of universalization of Higher Education in Cuba, together with the implementation of novel and varied curriculums that contribute to increase and diversify the ways of accessing to university studies, have made possible the integration of several age groups and diverse previous preparation of the students enrolled in the different courses given at the municipal campuses. Thus, there has also been an increase of the teaching staff made up by professionals arriving from other educational levels and/or professions who require an up-dated continuing professional development on pedagogical, methodological and didactical topics.
